Email from President Bingham to their Missionaries: Feb 2nd
I appreciate what you are doing as a full-time servant and disciple of Jesus Christ. I know that the responsibility is great, but it can be so wonderful and joyful when we remember to “think celestial”, as counseled by Pres. Nelson. What a blessing it is to have living prophet. I have been reviewing words and wisdom which he has shared to all the world. Some of my favorites include:
“Each day is a day of decision, and our decisions determine our destiny.”
“When the focus of our lives is on Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening -or not happening in our lives. The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.”
“Nothing is more liberating, more enabling, or more crucial to our individual progression than is a regular, daily, focus on repentance. Repentance is not an event; it is a process.”
“You can change. You can ‘come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.’”
“When we follow Jesus Christ, we act and love as He would love.”
“One of the easiest ways to identify a true follower of Jesus Christ is how compassionately that person treats other people…His true disciples build, lift, encourage, persuade, and inspire-no matter how difficult the situation. True disciples of Jesus Christ are peacemakers.”
I am so grateful for the righteous desires of your heart and all your efforts in focusing on your Missionary Purpose and striving to become more like the Savior. How blessed we truly are! With much appreciation and love, ---Pres Bingham
