Email from President Bingham to their Missionaries: Feb 5th
PMG2 reminds each of us that the Lord has called us to His work, and He also invites us to follow Him. “What manner of men ought ye to be?” He asked. “Verily I say unto you, even as I am” (3 Nephi 27:27). To be successful, there is much we need to do as a missionary, such as how to study, how to teach, and how to set goals. This is all very crucial, and can be found in many of the chapters of PMG2. We will be blessed as we study and apply these chapters each day, both personally and as a companionship. Just as vital as what we do is who we are and who we are becoming. Chapter 6, Seek Christlike Attributes, should also be a focus of our study, as well as our intentional efforts in becoming more like Him. His attributes can become part of our character, will change the way in which we see others, and the way in which we treat them. May we all think celestial and become more celestial as we become more like Christ in our desires, our thoughts, and in our actions. Elder Holland has said, “The Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues, and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, the Savior is there to keep you going… Soon enough you will have the success you seek.”
I love and appreciate you for who you are and for who you are striving to become! ----Pres Bingham
