A Life-Changing Invitation: Elder Casinillo's Journey to Missionary Service
Today after we attended a District Council Meeting Michael did some interviews. Michael extended an invitation to a particular Elder, Elder Casiinillo He accepted the invitation and then told him that he wanted to share with him an invitation that he received three years ago. The missionary then proceeded to tell Michael that Sister Bonnie Cordon and her husband Derek Cordon visited him and his family at their home in Cebu. He related how Derek had asked him what his plans were for the future. After Elder Casinillo replied that he wanted to go to school and become an engineer, he was surprised when Derek said - "That's great! But would you consider going on a mission first?" Derek then invited him to read the Book of Mormon and prepare himself for a mission. "Because of him and his invitation, I go on a mission." - Elder Castinillo. He has been serving here and will complete his mission by the end of the year. He still has the Book of Mormon that Derek gave to him. And he still reads and studies because of the invitation. Thank you Derek for blessing this young man with your invitation to prepare for and serve a mission.
Just look at how proud he is to wear that name tag!
