Thoughts from Sister Bingham
January 8, 2024
I have been praying for an opportunity to share the gospel with others - more like a missionary, even though I have many opportunities to invite others to Jesus Christ every day. Today my prayer was answered - I gave away my first Aklat ni Mormon!. When the gas attendant saw my name tag he asked me if I had a bible. I told him that I did have a Book of Mormon. I pulled one out for him and handed it to him. He was thrilled. He told me that when he was 11 some foreign missionaries had taught him about Jesus Christ, and having faith being baptized and gaining eternal life. He asked me to pray for his parents who are both sick. I was able to share my testimony of the Savior and of the book of Mormon with him and now I have his name and number to share with the missionaries that are in, his area of our mission. There are mission miracles every day.
I have been thinking about President Nelson's message to Marvel & Rejoice. I think we can do those 2 things in any circumstance we find ourselves in. Saturday as we met with the service missionaries that are serving here in our mission I marveled at each of them. Seeing faith and diligence causes me to marvel at individuals who are living with physical or mental challenges but who chose to stay faithful and serve. I rejoice that I get the opportunity to meet & work with each of them. I marvel at the ordinance of baptism with all of the symbolism of humility, being clean and beginning again. I rejoice that I have the opportunity to partake of the sacrament each week and renew that sacred covenant with my Father in Heaven. I marvel at my own human body that even with my many imperfections I can see, smell, feel etc. I rejoice in the fact that one day we will all be resurrected with perfected bodies. I marvel at technology and rejoice that we have this tool for communication - with family & missionaries. I marvel at faithful saints all over this world. I rejoice that I am a part of this wonderful group of saints. I marvel at the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and I rejoice that I get to read, ponder and apply its precepts in my life. I marvel at my Savior, Jesus Christ. I rejoice that I know He lives.
