Letter from President Bingham

The following is a paragraph that your dad - President Bingham wrote to the missionaries this morning in his weekly email to them. I inserted what is found in the parenthesis to try and make it fit each one of you - well it wasn't all that successful - but please know that you are each loved, prayed for and thought of! We both pray for you and talk about how much we love you and how proud we are of each of you daily. Enjoy the following. We love YOU! MOM & DAD

My heart is filled with gratitude when I think of you being an awesome missionary(son, daughter, husband, wife, mother, father, friend, neighbor, etc.) and doing your best each day.  In my mind I see you walking, biking, or trikeing with your companion, headed to your next teaching appointment.  I see you stop to OYM a stranger on the street, sharing a 2 minute message about Heavenly Father’s love for them.  I see you telling them about His simple and beautiful plan of Happiness, and how the Savior is central to that plan.  I can hear you inviting them to Come and Follow Him.  As you do this, I know that the Spirit is felt.  I envision some sort of invitation being extended.  You point them to Christ and help them to show faith in Him.  I envision these same type of things happening when you teach your interested friends or share inspired messages with members, recent converts, and returning members.  Your determination to be obedient, study and plan, and get out and work and teach each day truly makes me proud of you.  It is not always easy to be a missionary, but you are doing it.  Thank you for finding peace and joy in doing His work and sharing His message each day.  Thank you for being His fellow servant.  Thank you for loving and serving others, including your companion each and every day.  Heavenly Father loves you and is very proud of you, as am I.  The gospel is blessing you now as a focused missionary.  The blessing of living the doctrine of Christ will bring you joy throughout your life and throughout eternity.  PMG2 states:  “We are most likely to be happy-both as individuals and as families-when we live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. (see Mosiah 2:41 and The Family: A Proclamation to the World).  Living the gospel (and being a missionary) deepens our joys, inspires our actions, and enriches our relationships”.  I appreciate and love you for who you are, what you do each day, and for what you are becoming.

    Sincerely, Pres Bingham
